The Lakshminarayan Temple, also known as the Birla Mandir, is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Shri Lakshminarayan in Delhi, In Hindu Mythology, Lakshminarayan usually refers to Vishnu, Preserver in the Trimurti, also known as Narayan, when HE is with his consort Lakshmi. The temple, inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhiji, was built by Danveer Jugal Kishore Birlaji from 1933 to 1939. The side temples are dedicated to Shiva and Maa Bhagwati DurgaJi. This temple is also dedicated to Krishna Ji, Hanuman Ji, Ganesh Ji,and Shiv Parivar. It also houses Geeta Bhawan for discourses & Sheesh Mahal of Krishna Ji which is a unique piece of Art in itself. Further it houses the Sai Baba Temple & Punchmukhi Shivalya in the Vatika.

          It was the largest Hindu Temple built in Delhi. The Temple is spread over 6.27Acres adorned with many Shrines, Fountains, and a large Garden with Hindu and Nationalistic sculptures. The Temple is one of the major attractions of Delhi and attracts millions of devotees on the festivals of Janmashtami and Diwali.

History Of Lakshmi Narayan Mandir ( BIRLA MANDIR) NEW DELHI

          The construction of the temple, dedicated to Lakshminarayanji, started in 1933. The same was built by Raja Baldeo Das Birla, an industrialist and philanthropist and his son Danveer Jugal Kishore Birla of the Birla family. Thus, the Temple is also known as Birla Temple. The foundation stone of the Temple was laid by Maharaja Udaybhan Singh. The concluding ceremony and Yagna were performed by Swami Keshavanandji. The famous Temple is accredited to have been inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1939. The Temple is open for all without any discrimination. It is believed that if any devotee offers his prayers in the Temple regularly for 14 days, he is absolved from vastudosh. It is also believed that if any devotee performs Yag in Yagshala of Birla Mandir, his wishes are fulfilled. Further it is also believed that if the parents arrange the first meeting of their sons & daughters in the temple premises for the purpose of Sagai, generally they get success.

"Welcome. Inside the campus, you will be greeted by the Welcome Gates followed by Bhakti Dwar, passing through a Visitors'Center." Further you will be greeted by a spacious Geeta Bhawan and Sheesh Mahal of Krishan Ji followed by a large and spacious garden having fountain, different statues of animal, caves & Parsadam having food & snacks.
